Atrocity Solution Interview!

So who are the members of Atrocity Solution and what do they do?

We have jay who occasionally uses his vocal chords, but mostly destroys them. Luke and pirate
who play the 6 string, and battle between (and during) solos. The turtle, aka andrew, who slaps
da bass and keeps us walking. And Elliot who just bangs on shit coincidentally at the correct
time during every song.

What kind of music do you guys play?

We play a mean punk ska. angry ska. Whatever you want to call it. We prefer "Epic Ska Punk."

How did you guys get the name Atrocity Solution and was it the first name?

Theres 2 stories to the name atrocity solution, The one real one thats really dumb,
or the well thought out one thats fake. The fake one is the government and the media blind everyone
from the obvious truth of what they actually do. This consists of murder, theft, extortion, atrocities
...the list goes on. The only way to over come these things an obvious solution. The people. And we
the people, greatly outnumber, and foremost can outscare the government and their lies. Atrocity solution.
The real one is, we needed a band name, and we were young, and put the 2 words together and it sounded awesome.
As a band it was the first name, but in the history of the members, a few songs came before.

How and when did Atrocity Solution start, and can you explain a little about the bands history?

We started playing in 2006 in my basement. Me and luke were playing with a couple other kids and calling ourselves the insanity.
by this time, we did have the tracks "insanity, down the alleyway, and few others" already written. It wasnt till
later, when members of another local band Lower Class Citizens started hanging out with us, did we play them.
The other members of the insanity just weren't fitting, so we subtley kicked them out and asked jay if he wanted
to play git and sing.He agreed and we just needed a bassist. At the time, we couldn't find anyone else, so jay called
up his front man of LCC and andrew just so happened to want to play bass. Then a couple years ago, guitar riffs got a little technical in the band, so we needed another guitarist. We heard of this Pirate guy around town who played some wicked guitar. We found him, The full band was formed, The name stuck, We played some shows, and here we are.

What are some of your influences?

As a band, I think any good crack rock steady band was a big influence when we started. Now, as
individuals, we've all brought our own personal influences to the table. I know jay loves his heavy shit. Andrew
loves beats and hip hop. Pirate loves crust punk. Luke loves punk rock. And i love metal and classical. It kind of
goes hand in hand with the instruments we play ironically. But when we come together as a whole, it just fits.

What's your favorite venue to play at, and why?

There are sooo many places we've played that have just been amazing and unforgettable. But No offense to any of
those awesome places, i think our favorite was the PI in our hometown. Even tho when we played there, it was us
playing for a crowd of 20 or 50, it was always so much fun to hang out with everyone, get on stage, rock the fuck out,
and then party with the crew afterwards. It was like a monthly ritual. unfortunately the bars' live music license got
suspended, so the venue is on hold at the moment.

Any crazy stories from touring?

As for tours, weve played on ranches with carhead lights to see (thank you Lampasas), We've almost gotten arrested by the jackson, mississippi police with the dirty south revolutionaries, We played on an indian reservation where the cops had to shut down the show by cutting the power outside the reservation, We've had our van window smashed in along with a member of the dirty souths head, by a bunch of crusty punk kids who were pissed about a bicycle, We've stayed with our buddies OFC and had 3 day partying extravaganzas! Theres so many tour stories, it would be difficult and impolite to not name them all. All i know is, I want more and more stories, and touring is the only way to get them.

Thanks again for doing this interview for us!
We appreciate it!
